Details: Michael Chesley Johnson, PSA, will present a five-day outdoor workshop in both oil and pastel at Black Brook Gallery in Goffstown, NH, April 18-22. Michael will guide you in your plein air explorations of the early spring landscape. He'll show you how to capture the essence of the landscape quickly, how to use intuitive color, and how to follow up with as much detail as you need to achieve the degree of realism you desire. Michael is a Signature Member of the Pastel Society of America and a juried member of Oil Painters of America. His award-winning Southwest and Down East landscapes have appeared in both American Artist and Fine Art Connoisseur (Plein Air Magazine) and can be seen in galleries in Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Maine and Canada.
Every level of student is welcome, and students may work in oil or pastel or both. Every day starts with a demonstration, followed by plenty of student work and personal help at the easel. Michael's style is relaxed and easy-going, but you'll learn a lot! We'll paint outdoors as much as possible, weather permitting, but in the event of inclement weather, we will work indoors. Bring photos for indoor painting. Also bring a bag lunch for each day.
Sign Up: Deposit checks
should be payable and mailed to LACA artist-member Sharon Allen, 10 Hubbard Hill
Road, Derry, NH 03038. Check (or cash) for balance can be payable directly to
